Sadhana is Practice

 In Nadia

With the end of January swirling in the not too distant future, perhaps by now the shininess of a new year may be dulling slightly, as routines and demands on your time pile back on after the holidays. Well placed intentions get set aside as the inertia of the day-to-day comes rushing in.

Sound relatable?

As I circle back to our last post, where we offered up the reframing of “new year, new me,” as an opportunity to reacquaint ourselves with our wholeness and celebrate what is true within us, I find myself reflecting on the yogic theme of sadhana which translates to practice in Sanskrit.

The idea of practice can be a balm to the inner dialogues that can speak up when the intentions we set are not met or are challenging to meet. Nearly anything can be framed as practice. And I believe that viewing our actions through the lens of practice allows us to be curious and compassionate about our endeavors. When we inevitably fall short of an expectation, whether internal or external, we can ask, “If we are practicing, are we ever truly falling short?”

Or by simply trying, aren’t we demonstrating that we are striving, growing, learning, and more?

What could being curious about practice do for you?

We are curious:

What might you need to support your yoga practice?

What does practice mean to you?

What goals have you set for your yoga practice?

We would love to hear from you! So feel free to send us an email, or start a conversation in our Facebook group.

With gratitude,

Nadia
